About Dana Norris
Dana Norris is a business executive with deep expertise in human capital who is dedicated to coaching and advising CEOs and their teams on leadership, culture, communication and people strategies. She excels in onboarding, coaching, mentoring and developing individuals to build and deliver organizational excellence. Dana has a strong background in developing corporate human capital plans for business growth and strategic focus and has shown exceptional project leadership in managing cross-functional teams. She understands the role culture plays in creating a bond across an organization.
Dana served as Senior Managing Director and Chief People Officer/Head of Global Human Capital at the real estate/private equity firm Tishman Speyer, where she oversaw a global organization of over 2,500 employees. During her tenure, she established a multi-national culture and human capital function that prioritized people, building a talent pipeline that became a key differentiator for the company. Over 85% of the current senior team were hired, trained, developed and promoted to their leadership positions under her guidance.
Shortly after joining Tishman Speyer in 2002, Dana co-drafted the company’s guiding principles that still stand today. She built internal capabilities that put the company at the forefront of the industry for leadership programs, strong mentorship and training. She refined the people processes, recognizing top talent and establishing a commitment to promote from within. Dana led initiatives to grow the company and collaborated with senior business leaders to expand geographically across five continents, hiring local teams and establishing local practices while maintaining global standards and firm-wide cohesion.
In 2016, Dana expanded her role to include marketing, overseeing the Chief Marketing Officer, and marketing strategy. During the COVID pandemic, she led initiatives around “return to office” for both employees and customers. Beginning in 2022, as a Senior Advisor Dana continued to coach and mentor the CEO and senior executives, reinforced the company's culture and played a key role in designing the new Tishman Speyer HQ office space in Rockefeller Center based on the user experience and a vision for the future of office.
Throughout her 20+ year tenure with Tishman Speyer, Dana worked with large and boutique executive search firms, coached senior executives in each major international market, led annual succession planning and chaired the global compensation committee. The focus on culture was pervasive, touching all aspects of the company. Her efforts contributed to Tishman Speyer's reputation and the pride they have in being known for both great real estate and great people, demonstrated in their respect for investors, partners, customers, local communities in which they operate and colleagues.
Dana began her career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she worked for 14 years. As part of her client work, she often coached senior leaders on communication strategies, finding greater success when clients used thoughtful messaging to complement business solutions. Dana later led Professional Development for McKinsey’s New York Complex, forming and supporting high-functioning client teams and coaching senior consultants. Her role included recruiting, training, performance feedback, and compensation for consulting staff.
Outside of her corporate work, Dana has volunteered with Sharsheret since 2007. Sharsheret is an international non-profit supporting women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer. She served as Board President from 2016-2018 and continues today as an Honorary Advisory Board Member. Dana’s work at Sharsheret focuses on expanding fundraising, improving strategic focus, board engagement, and coaching and advising the CEO.
Dana is a graduate of Tufts University and MIT Sloan School of Management. She is a contract consultant with Berman Leadership Development and holds certifications with Hogan Assessments and The Myers Briggs Type Indicator. As an independent personal coach, consultant, adviser and Board Member, she works with startups, established companies, and non-profits, eager to give back to individuals and organizations that will benefit from her skills and experience.
Dana is based in Park City, Utah, and New York City.
